Checking A Brand's "You Save" Math Yourself

Bundle pricing pages love a big bolded "you save $X" line. Most shoppers never check whether that number actually reconciles with the prices printed right next to it. Here's a two-minute way to check, using TonicGreens' own pricing page as a real example.

Step 1: Find the regular price

Most bundle pages show a struck-through "regular" price next to the discounted one. TonicGreens lists $99/bottle as the crossed-out regular price across all three tiers.

Step 2: Multiply by the bundle size

For a 3-bottle bundle, that's $99 × 3 = $297 as the full-price baseline. For 6 bottles, $99 × 6 = $594.

Step 3: Subtract the actual total

TonicGreens' 3-bottle total is $177, so $297 − $177 = $120 in real bottle savings. The 6-bottle total is $294, so $594 − $294 = $300 in real savings.

Step 4: Compare to the advertised figure

The official page advertises $320 saved on the 3-bottle tier and $434 on the 6-bottle tier — neither matches the bottle-only math above, even after adding the $184 combined value of the two bonus books. It's a small, checkable gap, and a useful habit to build for any bundle page you're evaluating.
